The Mass WILDCATS are Proud to Offer a Non-Parent Coached Environment.

 Our Head Coaches and Assistants are seasoned players at the college or high school level

Previous coaching experience is required to become a Head Coach

The Mass WILDCATS support their coaches in obtaining First Aid Certification from the American Red Cross

Coach Ferdinand  is an excellent teacher of basketball fundamentals and needs no introduction to those familair with Metrowest girls' basketball. Pat is the Sports Director at the Waltham YMCA and runs the Jr. Celtics Basketball Program there partnered with the Boston Celtics.  He coordinates the very successful YMCA high school basketball league in the summer,as well as, many youth clinics (see our clinics page).  In addition to that, Pat guided his own Varsity team at The Cambridge School of Weston to its best season ever last winter enroute to a second round playoff appearance.

Coach Check-Davis was a 3 yr varsity player at Lexington Christian
Academy. Ben has been involved in the Waltham YMCA youth progaram coaching grades 1-6 and at the Cambridge School of Weston Camp. 

Coach Rashford
also joins the staff. Lauren is a point guard on the Brandeis Women's Basketball Team. She is in her sophmore season and an important contributer to the tournament bound Judges. In high school, Rash was a  New York State Class A 7th Team All-Star 

 


 

Coach Garrett enters her 9th season with the WILDCATS, amassing over 100 victories. Garretts U13 National Team placed 4th in the STATES and qualified for Division Nationals in Monroe, Louisiana. Members of Garretts National Team currently are in their first year of college and senior year of high school.  Some players of note are Boston College's Carolyn Swords, St. Joe's of Maine Erin Cartwright and Waltham's Renee LeBlanc. Coach Garett also serves as the JV Girls Basketball Coach at Wayland H.S.

Coach Blanco enters her first season with the WILDCATS. Michele is very active in the Billerica Youth Basketball Program coaching girls 9-14. She  also helped to coordinate the extrememly popular Sarah Behn Clinic through the Billerica Rec Dept.that attracted over 80 young participants. Michele also had a very successful high school and Jr. College career.

Coach Curry will begin her first season with the WILDCATS; though Curry is no stranger to AAU, as she has been involved with the CT Starters over the years as both a player and camp counselor.  Megan played her college ball at Suffolk University and is currently coaching  girls middle school basketball in Dedham.


Coach Russ has been with the WILDCATS program for 3 seasons. Meghan is a product of Hopkinton High Schools highly successful basketball program. She was team captain her senior year and went to the Boston Garden for tournament play. Meghan then brought her posting skills to Brandeis University where she played her college ball for one of New England's Elite programs. 

Coach Doeberl  is entering her first full season with the WILDCATS after assisting with the 07 fall season. Coach Dobie is a former Wellesley College standout. She was NEWMAC Acadademic All-Conference 2002- 2005, and in 2004 she was named to the Seven Sisters Tournament Team. Kristen  also had a great soccer career at Wellesley; in 2005, she was named to the Randolph Macon All-Tournament Team. 

Coach Goshtigian, a former WILDCAT captain from the '89 National Team, is joining the11u squad this season as an assistant.  Gabby is coming off her senior season at Acton-Boxboro and is continuing her basketball career at UMass Dartmouth as a freshman. Gabby has been involved with Acton Rec League coaching 3rd & 4th graders.
