The Mass WILDCATS are Proud to Offer a Non-Parent Coached Environment.

 Our Head Coaches and Assistants are seasoned players at the college or high school level

Previous coaching experience is required to become a Head Coach

The Mass WILDCATS support their coaches in obtaining First Aid Certification from the American Red Cross

Program Director
Girls 11u/6th Blue & 14u/15u

Coach Garrett   has coached at all levels from elementary to college. Lisa enters her 12th season with the Mass WILDCATS. Her 13u (89') National Team qualified for Division I Nationals in 2003. Members of Garrett's National Team are currently in their Junior year of college. Some players of note are LS/Boston College's Carolyn Swords, Waltham/Westfield State's Renee' LeBlanc and AB/St. Joe's of Maine's Erin Cartwright. Lisa's 15u (94') Team Traveled to Ireland in August of 2009 for some international competition.

Girls 12u/7th

Coach Ryan  was a former Waltham High School basketball standout and has been involved with the Waltham YMCA program for the last 6 years. Matt is currently in his 2nd season as the Girl's Assistant Basketball Coach at Cambridge School of Weston, and coached 2yrs at Kennedy Middle School (Waltham) as Head Coach of the Boys Team. Matt  is also a coach at the Rising Star Basketball Camp and is entering his 3rd season with the WILDCATS. Matt spent 2 seasons as an assistant to Coach Ferdinand's team that went to the Division II Nationals in July of 2009.

 Girls 12u/7th Assistant

Coach Martinez is in her 2nd season as coach for the (93') WILDCATS team. Kathy played three years of Varsity basketball at Mt. Alvernia High School in Newton and was twice named a Daily News Tribune All-Star and 3 time Catholic Conference all-star in high school. She has two years of Division I basketball experience from Loyola University-New Orleans.  Kathy has coached several clinics for Watertown’s youth recreation teams and at the Waltham YMCA. Kathy has been involved with the Watertown Girl's Youth Program for the past 3 seasons and  was an assistant coache with Watertown’s undefeated 7th grade girl's travel team.  She is currently a graduate student at Boston College and a Watertown resident.


Boys 6th grade
 
Coach Ramsdell comes to us off a very successful season as the Mass Premier 8th grade boys coach and is currently coaching the Medfield Boys 8th grade Travel Team.  Josh has also coached 2 seasons of recreational basketball at the high school and college levels in Pembroke, Maine. As a high school player from Washington Academy in Machias, Maine, Josh was captain of his varsity team for 2 seasons and received several awards: Best Defensive Player (2yrs), All Conference and was named to the Eastern Maine All Tourney Team.

Girls 13u/8th, 15u/14u

Coach O’Halloran has been involved in teaching the game of basketball through the Waltham Girl's youth leagues and AAU basketball for the past 16 years at the elementary, middle and high school levels.  Paul is the former Director of the Mass Hoopsters AAU Program. He is also a certified basketball official through IAABO Eastern Ma Board 27 and ECAC Division III Women’s College Basketball.

Girls 13u/8th Assistant

Coach Lowe played varsity basketball at Bedford High School and AAU for many years. Robin played college ball locally at Lasell College in Newton. As a coach, Robin was involved with Bedford Travel Basketball and AAU teams based out of Woburn and Beverly. Robin has also been involved for years with the Hoop Mountain Basketball Camp, both as a player and administrative staff for over 12 years.



Girls 10u/ 5th

Coach Monde  has been part of the WILDCAT Program for 3 seasons. He has been involved with Waltham youth basketball for several years and most recently he has been coaching in the YMCA Youth basketball program for the last 2 seasons. Coach Monde wants you to know that he still laces up his "chucks" and gets out on the court as often as his schedule permits.

 


 Boys 5/6th grade

Coach Rice   played his high school ball at Newfound Regional High School in New Hampshire and is a recent graduate of Bentley College. Eric captained his high school team, as well as, acting as a player coach for two years. He played AAU ball during middle school and high school and  played in intramural leagues while attending college. As well as playing, Eric has been a volunteer ref and coach at his local community center. Eric is entering his 2nd season with the WILDCATS. Eric is currently coaching a 6th grade Newton Travel Team and a 12u Boys Team at the Newton Boys & Girls Club.

Girls13u/8th

Coach Ferdinand  is an excellent teacher of basketball fundamentals and needs no introduction to those familair with Metrowest girls' basketball. Pat is the Sports Director at the Waltham YMCA and runs the Jr. Celtics Basketball Program there partnered with the Boston Celtics.  He coordinates the very successful YMCA high school basketball league in the summer,as well as, many youth clinics (see our clinics page).  In addition to that, Pat guided his own Varsity team at The Cambridge School of Weston to its best season ever last winter enroute to a second round playoff appearance.

 Girls 11u/6th Gold

Coach Flynn has been involved with numerous basketball camps since 1998. As a high school senior Keri was named Massachusetts player of the year and led her team to the State Championship in 2000. Keri played her college ball at Bentley in Waltham. She set and holds a number of records at Bentley and was named New England Basketball Hall of Fame Div. II Player of the Year. Keri also played professional basketball in Italy and Amsterdam. In Italy, her team won the Championship and Keri was named Player of the Year in the league.


 Girls 11u/6th Gold

Coach Elnitsky is currently the freshman coach & varsity assistant at Rockland High School. Caitlin captained the Roger Williams University Women's team and holds the record as the All Time Assist Leader. She has also coached at various basketball summer camps such as UConn, Siena & Providence College. Caitlin also has been a coach and director of the the Skyhawks Sports Academy.
